Its finally Friday ! For most of us (excluding myself), this means that we can finally get rid of all restricting clothing and change into comfy, ugly clothes (hello yoga pants!) then plop down on the couch while eating junk and watching our favourite shows. Add an alcoholic drink or two, and you're all set.

Wait... who am I kidding ? Friday, the day where: we fall asleep at 8pm, rise at 7am, go to the groceries, clean the house, bring the kids to practice/walk the dog, cook for the week and maybe, maybe, have time for a shower!

People always dislike Mondays, when in fact I think that they should dislike fridays, which really just announce the end of routine and the beginning of chaos! Maybe I am being a little overdramatic .. as Freud would say, I must have some repressed emotions at the moment or unresolved issues at a subconscious level. Maybe its due to the rain, or all of the laundry that I have to do, or maybe because there are a lot of bills to deal with at the end of the month!

As is evident in the picture, Cooper does not share my worries. He has already found his crocheted blanket, spectacles and is currently finishing off a bone. Ahhh, a day in the life of a dog!

On a brighter note, Monday will be the start of something new for me. I begin a new (and 2nd) job in the cosmetics section of a drug store. I will complete online "drug store university" courses, and then be considered a certified cosmetician. This means that I will be able to get commissions from the products that I sell while working part-time during university. I hope that I enjoy it! This sixth year of university means that my budget is almost non-existent !

I suppose that I should end my blog post here, as I am quite tired and need to get ready for a weekend of work and cleaning. Here's a little joke to keep you smiling:

What do you get if you own a pampered cow ?
- Spoiled Milk!

Stupid joke, but makes me laugh as I love puns!

Love,

Kim!

Hi !
I am sure you know by now that Cooper and I are night critters. We always post on here quite late (read: past midnight) and creep around IG late as well ! (Hi Monty, QQ, the schnauzers, Lainee, Schroeder, BearBear, Bease, Lucy and everyone else !!)

As Cooper is telling me, he has already informed you of his new living situation. He says that it would be very boring for me to speak about it again, as he already "has it covered". I would simply like to add that I love it here too; the guys are nice (their GFs too!), and we have adapted well! Everyone has different schedules so we all get our alone time!

I have been working a lot lately in home health care, so I try to get some sun when I have a day off. It was been unbearably hot lately, so Cooper hasn't gotten out much as he fathers lying down in rigor mortis fashion in front of the newly installed AC. I do the same, but on the couch and in a much more relaxed fashion.

Lately, I have been living off of coffee and fruit (what's new with that!). I find it so hard to work out in crazy hot weather because I am tired before I even get there. However, I am making progress, and my trainer slash gym owner told me today that he was proud of me and that I was doing really well ! That is a big deal because he says sh*! like it is and is very genuine. Woohoo ! I still have an incredibly long way to go, but I try to enjoy and not stress myself out. It is more about how it makes me feel than makes me look now- awesome, right ?!

Well, I am feeling tired as I work in about 7 hours, so I think I will attempt to hit the sack! Please leave any comments or suggestions or topics that you would like me to discuss in the comment box!

Thanks for following us :)

Much love,

Kim !

! My new home... with Bros !

Hey guys!!!

I am soooo happy about our new move ! At first, I really really planned on crying and howling and being stressed out when my Mom left the house, especially since this was a new house and I hate being home alone. But as it turns out, I like it here! I do not even think that I cried once. Ok, maybe once or twice!

But I looooove it here ! I have Bros! For real ! 3 boys live here! And they play with me a lot!! Tug-o-war, tag, wrestle... they even love squeaking my toy pig more than I do !!!!! Its great ! And there is a glass sliding door where I watch, erhmm monitor, the squirrel situation 24/7. I even spotted a raccoon past midnight and told on him to my Mom (and the rest of the house..)! Also, they say my bacon treats smell good, we are really bonding. Sometimes, I don't even follow Mom around, I rather have some bromance with my new roomies on the couch!

I have a k9 roomie who comes on weekends. He is also made of fluff that doesn't shed, but he is small and long. He likes to pee a lot. Inside. I am tempted to pee on top of his stuff, but my mother has warned me that there would be consequences involving no bacon, no piggie toy and eeeek ! no car rides to the gym. I'm almost 2 1/2 , so I am being the bigger dog.

He is my first selfie, it was so weird to see myself on the iphone screen as I was taking the pic! I'm rather shabby looking at 1:45 am!

Wags 'n Kisses,

Cooper !

PS: just want to make sure the whole wide world and canine population knows that Lainee the Welshie living in Nashville is MINE.

Hello !

It's throwback Tuesday today ! Here is a picture of my sister and I with our first Airedale (and first dog ever), Pongo ! Yes, I was infatuated with the 101 Dalmatians when I got him ... I am about 6-7 in this picture and my sister is about 3-4.

I used to do everything with this dog: ride on his back, taught him to go down my slide, through a tunnel and of course, have long chats.

Anyone who owns an Airedale, and especially one this size knows that the are extremely strong and muscular. Pongo, however, somehow knew that I was little be to be careful with me. I would walk him alone up and down my street at age 7, and he would never pull or run off. . So polite !

He wasn't as careful with my mom, who got dragged on her knees more than once when a kitty crossed their paths. Nor did he ever get bored of chasing porcupines, so my Dad got very skilled at extracting quills from deep down his throat of the course of Pongo's life.

We used to live near the beach in Gaspé, and the only times that he would leave home was to go bum sandwiches off of families on the beach in the summertime. . The lifeguards did not enjoy walking him home a few times a week! I think he was just looking for employment at the beach! Lifeguard and sandwich testing Airedale.. Sounds like a dream job.

I love this picture, you can tell how happy I am to be cuddling this big teddy bear ! I waited so long for a dog (5 years) and my parents searched high and low for a breed that I would not be allergic to. I was so excited ! I still remember having a ziploc bag full of dog treats at school with me all day, since I knew we were going to get MY DOG at the airport after school !

Sadly, he only lived approximately 6 years, as he chased a cat and hopped out of a ditch and in front of a car. He is buried on the land behind our cottage, and I visit him a few times a year.

Thank you Pongo for not only being my first dog, but for transmitting the love of Airedales. I've never met another type of dog that looks up at you with inquisitive eyes and seems to understand each word that is said. I will always remember my big goofy puppy!

Hello Everyone!

We apologize for our leave of absence. We have decided that we would like to continue to blog, mostly due to the extensive coverage that Cooper has gained through Instagram (hey, fellow AT/Welshie!FT lovers!).

We will try to update you as often as we can with a little comment on our life, and a video and/or photo. Cooper is an Airedale with many human traits; he learns incredibly fast and loves to play along and "act like a human". I like to try and take advantage of his intelligence to create short films that are funny and unique. If you do not know already, he is also often referred to as my house elf, since he does many tasks for me.

Please share this site, and follow our adventure!

PS: we are actually moving to a new "uni home" this weekend, living with 3 cool guys in a house - I am sure that we will have lots to talk about!

Much Love,

K&C

B E D T I M E !

Hi guys!

I have an insane week coming up at university, so I will not be posting for a few days ! Sorry.

REALLY? Although being vegan, or vegetarian is no new trend; we now hear a lot of buzz about being a raw foodist. People who eat "raw" eat anything that is eaten raw, uncooked. This can include fruit and vegetable pulp that is mashed together and dehydrated to make crackers.

Often, raw foodists are vegans, but sometimes not. Others feed on certain raw fish, like sushi.

Now, it is being suggested that feeding your dog a Raw diet would provide your fur baby with the best nutrients possible. . .
What to say?

I do agree that certain ingredients in dog food is unhealthy, things such as "chicken meal" rarely contain any "chicken meat", but leftovers that we would hesitate to feed our pup if we were sitting at the table. The argument is also made that dogs have evolved to eat raw, and that this is the best possible way for them to absorb nutrients. Probably. However, I do not know if I would feel prepared to manipulate raw meat and feed my dog bloody bones. Not only is it a mess cleaning-wise, it could cause cross-contamination with owners as well as small children.

Check out THIS article for more info and reasons why your dog should perhaps switch to the latest trend!

I feel the need to speak about body image right now. In my university class, I know of at least two girls who struggle with an eating disorder. No, not high school teens, but adults. Life is so difficult for people who do not love themselves, and this does not simply "go away" on its own. You have to work at it, accept part of it, get professional help, and focus on the things you do love.

Trust me, I hate myself some days as well. Maybe more than I ever like myself. Still, I can focus on what I do well: I am compassionate, loving, honest, dependable and motivated.

I hate seeing my friends struggle, but I also admire them. They do get help, they take baby steps and face their condition.

Before I finish I would like you to take three things from this post:
  1. Do not judge mental illnesses. 1 out of 4 people will experience a mental illness during their life.
  2. Try not to be too harsh on yourself. It is ok to be disciplined (ie: exercise, career-wise, in your studies); but as even the Earth's environment proves, too much of something is no better than too little of something (ie: too much rain is no better than a long dry spell).
  3. Take 2 minutes to think about what you love about yourself & about what you've accomplished in your life. You are completely loveable too!

Coop: give him a slice of apple or bacon, and he is yours (not forever though, all mine!)
